Steocah is a ‘little place’ with a big community. Here you may find some of the completely free programs and amenities that we offer to help fulfill our mission of serving all members of the Stecoah and Graham County keeping this school house at the Center of our community. Be sure to check the calendar for up to date scheduling.
Textile Studio
Mon – Sat 10 am to 4 pm
Extended Hours: 3rd Tuesday 4 pm to 7:30 pm
Our Textile Studio has open studio hours for all of your fiber arts and crafting needs. Tools and equipment including large cutting tables, a quilt design wall, quilting rulers and cutters, as well as a printing press and printmaking tools. There is a suggested donation for use of the space and the use of some materials require a fee.
Schoolhouse Sit & Knit
Every 3rd Tuesday
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Come join in an evening of fun and fellowship in our Textile Studio. Bring your current WIP and or latest finished project. Crocheters and spinners are welcome.
Community Night Jam & Potluck
Every 3rd Tuesday
5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Community Nights begin with a potluck supper at 5:00 pm in the Front Kitchen. The Jam Circle begins to form at 6:00 pm under the outdoor pavilion. All ages and abilities are welcome – singers, too. Those who don’t want to join the circle are invited to bring a blanket or lawn chair. In inclement weather the Jam will move to the auditorium.

Outdoor Restrooms Seasonal
The Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center is located on a ten acre campus in the heart of the Stecoah valley. A third mile walking trail winds the perimeter passing by The Courtyard of the Cherokee which features native plants.The path parallels a rushing creek and a children’s play area. Guests are welcome to roam the grounds and flower beds as well as picnic on our decks or pavilion. Outdoor restrooms are accessible after hours during the warmer seasons.

You must call first to be sure the Notary is available. We only notarize car titles that are filled out completely and parties present.
