Spinning on the Drop Spindle

Would you like to try your hand at making your own yarn? Come learn to spin on a drop spindle with local fiber artist Anita Thiessen.

Anita simplifies the art of spinning by slowing down the steps – a process much easier taught on a drop spindle rather than the spinning wheel. All tools and materials including a batt of local wool are provided in this class. Anita and her family have a farm just miles from the Stecoah Valley Center where they raise Rambouillet sheep which produce a wool similar to merino.

Students who would like to keep spinning will have the option to purchase more wool and the drop spindle they use in the class.
