Ice Dyeing Workshop

Come for the fun of playing with color! No previous experience needed.  Ice-dyeing uses powdered fiber reactive dyes to produce a character of color blending unique from that of other dying techniques. Any natural fiber can be dyed with this type of dye (cotton, linen, rayon, bamboo as well as silk) for permanent, beautiful colors and patterns. The instructor will provide the needed dyes and auxiliary chemicals, along with a list of resources.

NOTE: This workshop will be held outdoors weather permitting.

When working with powdered dyes it is always necessary to wear a dust mask. It is also a good idea to keep space between students to prevent color contamination.  There will be a lunch break.
