DESCRIPTION:While at the Harvest Festival\, you are welcome to the Textile Studio\, where you can paint 10” x 10” garden flags. Rena Magolnick guides you through printmaking tricks to create layered\, multi-color designs. Each participant may paint 2 flags during the 1-hour session. SUMMARY:Wonky 9-Patch Stars - 2 Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: This workshop will be a 2-day event on August 16 and August 23th from 10 am – 2 pm each day. \nHave fun making these wonky 9-patch star blocks.  You don’t have to worry about making your star points even!  Make one block for a small wall hanging or several for a quilt——–the choice is yours.  At the first class we will learn the technique to make the block.  Your homework will be to make as many blocks as you like.  At the second class we will put the blocks together into a quilt top and discuss how to quilt it.  Bring your portable sewing machine to class.  Don’t have one?  Don’t worry.  Stecoah Valley Center has some machines available in the Textile Studio.  When you register\, let us know if you need to reserve one.  A supply list will be provided after paid registration.  There will be a lunch break. \nRegistration Deadline: Friday\, August 8\, 2025

DESCRIPTION:Come for the fun of playing with color. We will use permanent textile dyes and easy low water immersion techniques to add beautiful color & patterns to fabrics. Learn how to dye a range of colors. Any natural fiber can be dyed with this type of dye (cotton\, linen\, rayon\, bamboo as well as silk) with colorfast results. There are no mistakes\, only ‘happy accidents’. \nInstructor Rena Magolnick provides the dyes and auxiliary chemicals needed\, along with a list of resources for further experimentation. A list of materials for students to bring to class will be provided with paid registration.  There will be a lunch break. \nRegistration Deadline: Friday \, August 1\, 2025

SUMMARY:Ice Dyeing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Come for the fun of playing with color! No previous experience needed.  Ice-dyeing uses powdered fiber reactive dyes to produce a character of color blending unique from that of other dying techniques. Any natural fiber can be dyed with this type of dye (cotton\, linen\, rayon\, bamboo as well as silk) for permanent\, beautiful colors and patterns. The instructor will provide the needed dyes and auxiliary chemicals\, along with a list of resources. \nNOTE: This workshop will be held outdoors weather permitting. \nWhen working with powdered dyes it is always necessary to wear a dust mask. It is also a good idea to keep space between students to prevent color contamination.  There will be a lunch break. \nRegistration Deadline: Friday\, July 11\, 2025
