SUMMARY:Jeff Little Trio
DESCRIPTION:The piano rarely plays a prominent part in Appalachian or Americana music and is seldom the lead instrument. Jeff Little is an exception – and a remarkable one. His distinctive two-handed style\, much influenced by the mountain flat-picked guitar tradition\, is breathtaking in its speed\, precision\, and clarity. He was inducted into the Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame in 2014. \nJeff is joined by Steve Lewis (guitar/banjo) who has won many championships including two time national banjo champion. Jeff’s son\, Luke Little (mandolin)\, rounds out the trio. Jeff knows how to please a crowd and effortlessly engages his audience; the acoustics and intimate setting of our auditorium make this one a don’t miss evening. \nhttps://jefflittle.net/home.html \nhttps://youtu.be/6mkk9q-gbKg \nTickets: Adults $25; Students/K-12 $10; plus tax. All concerts are in the fully restored Lynn L. Shields Auditorium. Dinner is available for purchase in the Schoolhouse Cafe beginning at 6 pm. \nYour tickets will be available at our ‘will call’ desk prior to the event. If you have any problems or questions\, please call us during normal business hours at 828-479-3364.

SUMMARY:Wood\, Wire\, and Clay in Concert
DESCRIPTION:A Special PreSeason Concert with local favorites Wood\, Wire and Clay featuring brothers Johnathan and Joshua Jones along with Dwight Bradshaw and son\, Cameron Bradshaw. \nWhen you hear stringed tunes echoing through the hollers\, you know summer is here. The Joneses and Bradshaw’s spent many summers honing their craft\, as Dwight mentored the brothers and his son. Successful with the Smoky Mountain Boys and respected as a soloist\, Bradshaw uses his experience to pour into younger generations of musicians. Johnathan and Joshua proved themselves as diligent and talented students\, becoming master banjo\, fiddle\, and mandolin players. Bringing in Cameron on bass ties the band together for a cohesive sound locals love to hear. Though attending to families and careers reduced availability for concert tours\, music continues to be an important part of the Jones and Bradshaw’s lives. \nOn June 22\, they’re pulling out their wooden instruments\, tuning up the wire strings\, and allowing themselves to continue improving like malleable clay. Wood\, Wire\, and Clay takes to the Grand Old Stage of Lynn L. Shields Auditorium so you can start your summer with favorite songs from a favorite local band. \nWhile tickets are not required\, donations are requested. Help Stecoah Valley Center continue preserving and promoting southern Appalachian culture through music. \nAll seats are General Admission. Doors open at 6 pm. The concert starts at 7:30 pm. All concerts are in the fully restored Lynn L. Shields Auditorium. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase in the Schoolhouse Cafe beginning at 6 pm.

SUMMARY:Appalachian Smoke
DESCRIPTION:Get ready for an evening of quick instrumentation and intricate harmonies as Appalachian Smoke brings ‘It’s Almost Christmas’ to Stecoah Center’s stage – a mash up of holiday music and original material sure to put all in good cheer. Take a listen to this instrumental duo from Tim Williams and BJ Taylor as a concert appetizer: \n \nAppalachian Smoke is a contemporary bluegrass band grounded in the corners of North Carolina\, Georgia\, and Tennessee. Their independent release\, ‘Colder Side of Love\,’ received three reviews in Bluegrass Today acknowledging their talented songwriting\, melodic arrangements\, and smooth vocal harmonies. They bring an “edgy\, modern sound” to bluegrass music and “if they stick to this formula\, we will be hearing about Appalachian Smoke for a long time.” – Blue Grass Today \nMikel Laws (Alarka banjo/guitar)\, Jamie Mason (Culberson guitar/banjo)\, Kenneth Rymer (Crandell resophonic guitar)\, BJ Taylor (Nantahala mandolin/octave mandolin)\, and Tim Williams (Robbinsville bass). \nCheck out their premiere Album Release below:

SUMMARY:Appalachian Road Show
DESCRIPTION:Appalachian Road Show combines the award-winning talents of lead singer and banjoist Barry Abernathy\, tenor singer and mandolinist extraordinaire Darrell Webb\, Grammy award winning fiddler and producer Jim Van Cleve. On guitar is Zeb Snyder\, a young phenom who has taken acoustic guitar circles by storm. \nThe group seeks to honor the music\, traditions and history of the great Appalachian people and regions\, as much as it does to forge its own fresh musical and entertainment trails. Each endeavor is infused with an authenticity and vitality borne of their Appalachian roots. Their latest album\, Jubilation\, is introduced and narrated by none other than Dolly Parton. Performance is just as much a part of Appalachian Road Show as the music ¬– they pull out all the stops. Come on out and join us for a spell. \nhttps://www.theappalachianroadshow.com \nhttps://youtu.be/Ofwp8YChHjE
