SUMMARY:Kruger Brothers
DESCRIPTION:Brothers Jens and Uwe Kruger were raised in an European family where music was an important part of life. The brothers leaned in to those musical influences and were performing regularly even before they were teenagers. Their professional career started as a duo\, but in time\, they teamed up with bass player Joel Landsberg\, a native of New York City who also had a very extensive musical upbringing in classical and jazz music (studying with jazz great Milt Hinton). This trio that has been playing professionally together since 1995\, moving to the United States in 2002. \nSold out audiences are enamored with The Kruger Brothers’ creative infusion of classical into folk music\, making them a fixture within the world of acoustic music. The Kruger Brothers personify the spirit of exploration and innovation that forms the core of the American musical tradition. \nKeeping the sound fresh\, Kruger Brothers recently began taking mandolin player Jonah Horton along with them on tour. Horton’s former band\, The Trailblazers\, was 2018 Momentum Band of the Year\, and he is known for his fresh take on traditional bluegrass. He is also an instructor for Kruger Academy. \nTickets: Adults $30; Students/K-12 $10; plus tax. All concerts are in the fully restored Lynn L. Shields Auditorium. Dinner is available for purchase in the Schoolhouse Cafe beginning at 6 pm.  Your tickets will be available at our ‘will call’ desk prior to the event. If you have any problems or questions\, please call us during normal business hours at 828-479-3364. \nRefunds and Exchanges: All ticket sales are final. Refunds are given only if a performance is cancelled. As a courtesy\, if you cannot attend the show\, please call the Stecoah Gallery to release your seats/tickets as a donation in order for others to enjoy the performance.

SUMMARY:Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road
DESCRIPTION:Characterized by No Depression as “the future of bluegrass”\, Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road twine innovation\, tradition\, and excellence into a unique musical experience. Though only in his 22nd year\, North Carolina’s Liam Purcell has already established a name for himself in the world of American Stringband music. Growing up less than a mile away from the legendary guitarist Doc Watson\, Purcell was steeped in Appalachian Old-Time and Bluegrass traditions from an early age. Taking inspiration from the local Deep Gap legacy\, Liam began writing\, performing\, and storytelling from an early age. \nEntering the professional bluegrass circuit during his teenage years\, Purcell formed the stringband-supergroup Cane Mill Road. He would go on to lead the virtuosic ensemble through regional appearances\, building a fanbase across the Southeast and bringing his homespun rapport to some of the most revered festivals in the scene. By the time Purcell was 17\, the project had seen multiple entries on the Billboard Top 10 Bluegrass charts\, performed in 25 states\, and was recognized by the International Bluegrass Music Association in 2019 as the recipient of their Momentum Band of the Year Award. \nThis concert is underwritten by the Jazz Foundation of America and the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area. \n    \nTickets: Adults $25; Students/K-12 $10; plus tax. All concerts are in the fully restored Lynn L. Shields Auditorium. Dinner is available for purchase in the Schoolhouse Cafe beginning at 6 pm.  Your tickets will be available at our ‘will call’ desk prior to the event.
