The Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center is a vital contributor to the preservation of the Appalachian mountain heritage of Western North Carolina. Throughout the year we celebrate mountain traditions through our music programs, old-time festivals, workshops and other events that appeal to all age groups.

The Center's programs are also designed to help the local community. We are home to the Stecoah Valley Food Ventures and the Smoky Mountain Native Plants Association; as well as the Junior Appalachian Musicians program. Our Artisans Gallery provides sales promotion and support for local and regional artists.

We are perhaps best known for An Appalachian Evening, our annual summer concert series, which runs for ten Saturdays beginning the last weekend in June.

Notable artists such as Doc Watson, Bobby Hicks, Wayne Henderson (above), and The Kruger Brothers have appeared on our historic stage. The Saturday concerts are held at 7:30 pm in our 300-seat, air-conditioned auditorium. 2010 performers

You'll want to come early for a traditional Appalachian dinner, served family style in our dining room.

The series has been selected by The Southeast Tourism Society as one of its "Top 20 Events" in the region. And we're also a part of the 2010 75th Anniversary Celebration for the Blue Ridge Parkway. Click on the logo for more information about all BRP-75 events.

Want to improve your culinary skills? Learn jewelry making, qullting, gourd painting or watercolor? We offer a variety of arts and crafts classes during the year. And once a month (second Saturday) we have a cooking class in our very own professional kitchen. For more information on classes, click here.
